CHRIS RICHARDS
MIX ENGINEER & PRODUCER
Hi, I’m Chris, a mix engineer and producer based in central Mexico. I combine the precision of a modern digital workflow with real analog summing, saturation, and outboard processing to bring depth, warmth, and character to your recordings.
ABOUT ME
I’m a mix engineer, producer, and musician based at Estudio Los Encinos in central Mexico. My passion lies in helping artists transform great recordings into compelling, emotionally engaging records through a creative and collaborative mixing process.
I work with a hybrid analog and digital workflow, combining the precision and flexibility of modern digital tools with the depth, warmth, and character of real analog summing and outboard equipment. I believe analog gear should enhance the music—not simply be used for its own sake—and every piece of equipment in my studio has been chosen because it contributes something unique to the final sound.
For me, mixing is far more than a technical process. It’s a creative stage of production where balance, tone, dynamics, space, and texture all come together to shape how a song feels. Every project is different, and my goal is never to force music into a particular sound, but to discover what makes each song unique and bring that forward.
My perspective comes from many years of experience as a musician, producer, and mix engineer. Having spent time on both sides of the studio, I understand the trust artists place in someone to finish their work, and I approach every mix with the same care and attention I’d want for my own music.
Alongside years of practical experience, I’ve also studied music production and engineering remotely through Berklee College of Music, building a strong technical foundation while continuing to learn through real-world sessions and collaboration.
Whether you’re sending me a finished production or a project that still needs shaping, my aim is always the same: to create a mix that feels powerful, natural, and true to the artist’s vision—one that translates beautifully across every listening environment while retaining the emotion that made the song special in the first place.
